Kudaibergen Abildin

Kudaibergen Abildin is a tenor and, since the 2022/23 season, a soloist of Oper Frankfurt. He made his debut in 2022 as Rinuccio in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi. His repertoire at the house includes Tamino (Die Zauberflöte, Mozart), Lenski (Eugene Onegin, Tchaikovsky), the Prince (The Enchantress, Tchaikovsky), and the Italian Singer (Der Rosenkavalier, R. Strauss). From the 2025/26 season he is adding his first performances of Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Macduff (Macbeth), and Edmondo (Manon Lescaut), and in 2026/27 he will debut the role of Vakula in Rimsky-Korsakov’s Christmas Eve. He is a prizewinner at several international competitions, including first prize (the “Golden Viktoria”) at the DEBUT Classical Singing Competition in Germany (2022), second prize and the Eva Randóvá special prize at the Antonín Dvořák International Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary, and second prize at the Boris Shtokolov International Vocal Competition in St. Petersburg. Abildin has performed under conductors including Thomas Guggeis, Sebastian Weigle, Giacomo Sagripanti, Lorenzo Passerini, and Steven Sloane, and has worked with directors Claus Guth, Lydia Steier, Vasily Barkhatov, and Ted Huffman. He has taken part in masterclasses with Clarry Bartha, Brigitte Fassbaender, Neil Shicoff, Sergei Leiferkus, Peter Dvorský, Eva Randóvá, Larissa Diadkova, and Barbara Haveman.
