Kudaibergen Abildin

Kudaibergen Abildin has been a member of the Oper Frankfurt ensemble since the 2022/23 season, where he made his debut as Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi and has since sung roles including Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Lenski (Eugene Onegin), the Prince (The Enchantress), and the Italian Singer (Der Rosenkavalier). The 2025/26 season adds his first performances of Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Macduff (Macbeth), and Edmondo (Manon Lescaut), and in 2026/27 he will debut the role of Vakula in Rimsky-Korsakov's Christmas Eve. His concert repertoire includes Beethoven's Christus am Ölberge, Rossini's Stabat Mater, and Puccini's Messa di Gloria; he has appeared at the Mozartfest Würzburg and the Tiroler Festspiele in Erl. He has sung under conductors including Thomas Guggeis, Sebastian Weigle, Giacomo Sagripanti, Lorenzo Passerini, and Steven Sloane, and has worked with directors Claus Guth, Lydia Steier, Vasily Barkhatov, and Ted Huffman. He is a prizewinner of the DEBUT Classical Singing Competition (first prize, the “Golden Viktoria,” Germany, 2022) and the Antonín Dvořák International Singing Competition (second prize and the Eva Randová special prize, Karlovy Vary), as well as the Boris Shtokolov International Vocal Competition (second prize, St. Petersburg). He studied at the Kazakh National University of Arts in Astana under Professor Kanat Omarbayev, at the Conservatorium Maastricht under Professor Axel Everaert, and at the University Mozarteum Salzburg under Professor Mario Diaz.
