Kudaybergen Abildin is a lyric tenor distinguished by his warm timbre and expressive phrasing. A member of the ensemble at Oper Frankfurt since the 2022/23 season, he made his debut there in 2021 as Rinuccio in Il trittico(Puccini), following his studies at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. At Oper Frankfurt, his roles include Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Lensky (Eugene Onegin), the Prince in The Enchantress (Tchaikovsky), Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Macduff (Macbeth), and the Italian Singer in Der Rosenkavalier. Abildin is also establishing himself in the Italian repertoire, with roles including Rodolfo (La bohème), Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore), and Alfredo (La traviata). In addition to his operatic work, he is active on the concert stage, performing works such as Beethoven’s Christus am Ölberge, Rossini’s Stabat Mater, and the Messa di Gloria. He has appeared at festivals including Mozartfest Würzburg and the Tiroler Festspiele Erl. He studied at the Kazakh National University of Arts, the Conservatorium Maastricht, and the Mozarteum University Salzburg, and has participated in masterclasses with Brigitte Fassbaender, Sergei Leiferkus, and Neil Shicoff, among others. His competition successes include Second Prize and the Eva Randová Prize at the International Antonín Dvořák Competition, as well as First Prize at the DEBUT Competition (Goldene Victoria, 2022).
